Contemporary creators from Greece and Cyprus present their personal artistic proposals; proposals that have as common starting point clay and its archetypal power. Each one of them defending its own alphabet of artistic expression, its own poetry of plastic “movement”, and the “spirituality” of the primordial material.
According to the curator of the exhibition Mr. Takis Mavrotas, the artist – towards the end of the 20th century – a period of ideological and aesthetic confusion – uses clay more and more often in his effort to rediscover the lost archetypal values. Art, poetry, life, human being, nature, irony, death, truth and lies are the main topics of their search. The result blends images, visions and cultural adventures and transmits emotion and reason through the power of the plastic transformation.
