Having rooted well within the island’s cultural and cinematic terrain, Queer Wave returns to Nicosia in full bloom for its 7th edition. Taking place at NiMAC from 18 to 27 September 2026, the festival once again promises to keep audiences company with its 10 days blending over 20 screenings, four workshops, two tributes to queer ancestors and many parallel events highlighting the breadth of queer talent from the island and overseas: from DJ sets to runways and drag shows, as well as international collaborations.
This year’s festival will once again see over 50 Cyprus premieres being presented: a global selection of shorts, mid-lengths and features that include documentary, animation, essay films and historical titles.
