Easter Bunny ornament

Downloadable material:

Materials

  • Printed A4 sheet with all parts (on white card)
  • Felt tip pens or coloured pencils
  • Glue
  • Pair of scissors
  • one needle
  • Thread or rope
  • Beads (orange or/and green) or pasta with hole in the middle or straw cut in pieces (plastic or paper)
  • Orange and green paint for painting the pasta or straw pieces (in case you don’t have beads)

Instructions

Step 1: With the help of an adult, print the card with the parts (from NiMAC’ webpage)

Step 2: Find all the materials (Remember: We don’t use the needle and pair of scissors without the help of an adult)

Step 3: If we don’t have beads, we start by painting the pasta or straw pieces so that they will have dried by the time we will need them. If we are using beads, we proceed to Step 4

Step 4: Colour-in the shapes on the card — colour the circles orange as these will become the carrot, and colour the leaf green

Step 5: Cut the shapes from the card

Step 6: With the help of an adult, pass the thread through the needle. Tie a knot at the end of the thread so that our beads / pasta / straw pieces won’t fall off

Step 7: Pass one bead and one circle alternatively, starting from the smaller circle. There are seven circle sizes, and two circle of each size — so we have 14 circles. We start and finish the assembly with beads.

ATTENTION: There is one more circle next to the leaf. This circle is for Step 10

Step 8: When we have assembled all the circles, we put the leaf and  green bead on top of it

Step 9: We place our craft on a flat surface, e.g. a table, and glue the two sides of the bunny face together, having the thread in between

Step 10: Tie another knot above the bunny head, put a bead, then place the last circle and put one last bead. Lastly, make a slip knot with the thread so that we can hang our structure

Step 11: Our craft is ready!!!
