Underpinned by geology and travel, Stephens assemblages consist of imagery, wood, fabric and found objects that offer a personal response to the immediate landscape. All objects come with their own story but the abundance of any material can be a source of invisibility. By elevating artefacts to a mode of archive, the artist is interested in creating new dialogues and another perspective about the everyday.
